Just a little introduction.

Hello there!  ^_^

I found eoCMS only a few days ago, and have decided to stick around to help with testing and bug-squashing.  I want to witness what this young CMS will be capable of in the future, from the user's perspective.

This is Arwym, someone who is currently obsessed with discovering the wonders of the internet and conquer it someday, in a far away future.  Tongue  (Just playing.)  Also obsessed with grammar, clean X/HTML, and web design and development in general.

Well, that's it for now.

Nice to meet you, and see you around!

Welcome! As TGPEG, you seem pretty good at finding bugs. Grin

Re: Just a little introduction.

Still beginning in PHP, although I know enough to write some simple scripts, and right now I'm interested in learning to use the GD library, and in SQLite.  And file handling.  Working on those.  Currently, I don't have experience with things such as Javascript, though.  Sad
I don't think I can be of much help in that aspect at this time.

What I'm better at is with X/HTML and CSS, some graphics, generating ideas, finding bugs, orthographical and grammatical errors...

Keep practicing PHP, it's a language worth learning.

I like grammar as well, and I love to write...

Re: Just a little introduction.

I'm addicted to PHP.  It's love.  LOL.  So don't worry!  I'll continue learning.  This is what I want to do for a career.  Or, at least, that's what I have in mind.  ^^;

Oh, by the way.  In my previous post, when I said "I'm interested in learning to use the GD Library, and in SQL," what I wanted to say was "SQLite".  Sorry about that.

Howsit

SQLite is ok to learn, and a lot of functions are the same in MySQL (and other db's), mostly the SQL is the same to, although most db have slight difference, they are usually only quirks to that db...

GD is fun cos you get to see stuff..

As for not knowing JS, I can/have program in many languages, and apart from using $ and =>, there is a way to program PHP as you would JS (maybe because they are both ecmaScript compliant), because PHP can handle many programming styles

At the end of the day, it is not what language you use, but rather, knowing how to find what you are looking for in the function reference, that will allow you to get ahead

I even went to the extreme of creating a set of includes for vbScript/ASP programmers, just because the difference between PHP & vb are not intuative (eg. implode makes sense, unless you have never heard of it)
