Don't know if this is good or bad.  Probably the latter.

But all I see from just a quick look at the forum index is a BUNCH of porn spam.  And that happens to be my first experience watching an SMF installation get spammed.    Why would that be?

Is this still alive?  Because for the lack of moderation, it seems not.

Eeeek i just removed more and it keeps coming back!

Use some captcha plugins.  Some good ones: Are You Human, reCAPTCHAforSMF

I think I know one that is pretty good.  But either way...  I am still shocked!  SMF and spam together in the same sentence?  o_o;

It's not that uncommon now.  I had an extremely private smf forum that like 3 people knew about.  Apparently that doesn't matter for these spammers.  They are extremely persistent as well.  More annoying and obnoxious than a real threat though.

One would say that, but SMF has much lesser chances of getting spambots than something like PHPBB.  Some claim it's due to the popularity of the latter, but it's gotta do with the software's own competence, too; and PHPBB is just that: a popular piece of forum software.  It's not even a great one.

But I don't want to get into that.
